March 2012. Scott Sorensen has joined the United Way Hunger Steering Committee. The committee will focus on helping feed those in Brevard County that do not have the means to feed themselves or are just in need of assistance to provide food to their families.

April 2012. Early in 2012 the Eckerd Foundation announced its 2012 Children's Hero of the Year Award finalist, of which Scott Sorensen was chosen as the "TREASURE" category finalist. On the evening of March 17th when the awards ceremony took place, Scott Sorensen was honored to accept the award at the Brevard Walk of Fame event.
