It would take more space than we have here to present all of the challenges we have met. The opportunities for expansion in our market have enabled us to handle the needs of a growing population, while maintaining quality and integrity in every facet of our business. Sorensen Moving & Storage was started in March of 1956. William H. Sorensen, the father of Scott Sorensen, moved from upstate New York to Eau Gallie, Florida after learning of a new business opportunity along the Space Coast due to the beginning of the Space Program at Kennedy Space Center.

In 1977, Scott Sorensen took over as the President and owner of Sorensen Moving & Storage. In 1979, Sorensen Moving & Storage moved into its new facility which it currently occupies on Eau Gallie Blvd., in Melbourne. By 1983, the company was the largest Allied Van Lines agent in the state of Florida and continues to this date. In 1984, the company was recognized as one of the largest Allied Van Lines agent in terms of sales in the entire southeast United States. Sorensen Moving & Storage is also one of Allied Van Line's top hauling agents in the southeast and in the top 3% of agents in terms of booking in the Allied Van Lines system. Sorensen Moving & Storage continues its rapid growth as the Brevard County area continues to grow.

In 1990, more accomplishments were made. In that year, Sorensen Moving & Storage was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration, a direct office of the President of the United States, as Florida's Small Business of the Year. It was quite an accomplishment and one that Scott Sorensen and the entire staff at Sorensen Moving & Storage were quite proud of. Additionally, in 1990, the company built the new, modern offices that it currently occupies.

Over the years, Sorensen Moving & Storage has been able to expand and grow its business with one basic philosophy: Provide customers with nothing less than the highest quality service and maintain total customer satisfaction at all times. In 2001 Sorensen Moving & Storage was recognized as Allied Van Line's Global Agent of the Year, a huge milestone that was achieved by the hard work, commitment and dedication to quality service and customer satisfaction our team provides. Sorensen Moving & Storage will continue to not only maintain, but expand and grow its business in the years to come.
