Scott Sorensen and Sorensen Moving and Storage have a lengthy tradition of service to the community.

    Sorensen has provided in kind service and financial contributions to many needy organizations, including the following:


  • Sorensen, “Reaches Out” again. As the holiday season grew near so did the need to provide toys and gifts to children. Sorensen provided space in their warehouse, trucks to deliver the toys and volunteers to hand them out for this year’s Florida Today’s Reaching Out Program. Reaching Out touches the lives of about 3,500 children countywide, from newborns through age 15, that did receive toys and books this year.
  • Sorensen receives the Junior League of South Brevard 2010 recognition award for “Outstanding Commitment to Improving Our Community."
  • Sorensen supports the 2010 Space Coast Festival of Trees event with in-kind service.
  • Sorensen Moving & Storage begins implementation plan of “Going Green”
  • June 12th, 2010 Sorensen Moving, along with Sorensen Office Solutions, was a Golden Nugget sponsor for the 2010 Harmony Farms Buckaroo Ball, held to benefit Harmony Farms, a nonprofit equine-assisted therapy facility in Viera.
  • April 9th, 2010 Sorensen Moving and Storage was a Proud Sponsor of The Scott Center for Autism Treatment and An Evening of Hope II.
  • April 8th, 2010 Sorensen Moving and Storage sponsored Prevent Jamboree and helps raise $200,000 for Prevent!
  • JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SOUTH BREVARD

    Since the early 1990’s SMS has supported the Festival of Trees and their annual rummage sale with in kind moving service. The company delivers setup items required for the gala and show, moves the items back into storage at the conclusion of the event, and delivers the Christmas trees to their purchasers. For Rummage Roundup, SMS picks up all of the rummage items out of storage and delivers them to the event site.
  • GOING GREEN PROGRAM

    June 2010 - Sorensen Moving & Storage begins implementation plan of “Going Green”.
  • REACHING OUT PROGRAM

    In conjunction with Florida Today, Sorensen collects, stores, sorts and distributes toys to the needy children throughout the Brevard community and has done so since the programs inception in the early 1990’s. Prior to this program, SMS supported the Marine Toys for Tots Christmas drive with drop off boxes and in kind moving services.
  • SPACE COAST INTERVENTION CENTER

    For many years, SMS has provided in kind moving service, equipment and financial support to the SCEIC. Their delivery services have been important in supporting Scenic’s annual fundraiser.
  • SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

    For seven years, the company has provided in kind moving services to help provide over 117,000 meals to needy families throughout Brevard County.
  • HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF PROJECT

    Working in partnership with the American Red Cross, Sorensen Moving and Storage spearheaded the project to collect and deliver over 75,000 pounds of needed goods for Katrina victims in the Gulf Coast. This entailed collecting and loading donated items throughout Brevard County, sorting those items, and then working a successful delivery to the victims in the Gulf Coast regions.
  • HURRICANE ANDREW

    In 1992 when Hurricane Andrew hit and devastated Southern Florida, SMS was on site to help with packing and moving needs for those victims hit by the hurricane.
  • Florida Institute of Technology (FIT)

    Sorensen continually provides in kind moving services for special events and contributes financially on an annual basis.
  • MELBOURNE CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

    For many years, SMS has supported MCC’s sports programs and fundraising efforts by providing both in kind moving services and financial support. For the dinner auction, Sorensen delivers all of the silent and live auction items from the school to the dinner locale. In addition, for many years SMS has sponsored the Thanksgiving tip-off tournament which showcases local basket ball teams and, after the football field was devastated by a hurricane, helped to fund a new football scoreboard and needed equipment.
  • HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL SCHOOL

    In past years, SMS has provided both in kind moving services and financial support.
  • SPACE COAST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

    SMS provides both in kind moving services and financial support.
